The rock drawing of Derrynablaha in County Kerry shows the stars at the end of the Milky Way where there is a break between Vela and Carina which looks much like the southwest end of Ireland. There is a rock drawing representation of Vela, Carina, Puppis and the animals of the netherworld toward the South Pole. Nablaha is an interesting word which has a comparably named cupmarked megalithic site in the Baltic at Nabala, Estonia. The megaliths of the site of Uragh are actually in County Kerry, just on the border to County Cork (unusual border) but they represent Argo = Uragh, which is actually represented by County Cork. URAGH = ARGO and represents the False Cross between Vela, the Sail (this is County Kerry) and Carina, the body of the ship (County Cork). The four smaller megaliths behind the large stone at the prow are clear. Additionally, the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) appears to be marked. County KERRY represents Vela the sail while CORK represents the ship and is surely Gaellic CURACH "boat" which means that CORK takes its name from Gaelic CURACH "boat". Simply stated, CURACH is (C)URACH = URAGH. The city of Cobh is at the rudder, represented by the star Canopus = Cobh. The large front stone at URAGH has cupmarks for the False Cross at the front of it, a large mark for the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) below that, marking the South Ecliptic Pole, including the Australian platypus. To the left of LMC is an elephant's trunk with the eye marking the South Celestial Pole and further below that at the legs of the elephant is a mark which identifies the South Galactic Pole. This stone may also mark a map of the world on its front but the lines seem to be too faint to be able to tell with certainty. |
