Megaliths to the left and
right of the entrance
to the Rollright Stones, Kings Men Stone Circle
mark the stars of Draco at heaven's center on the left
and the stars of Lyra on the right.
The stars are shown by cupmarks on the stones.
Men Stone Circle Entrance
at the Rollright Stones
This stone circle shows megaliths, each of which represents
stars and/or asterisms viz. constellations ca. 3000 B.C.
In the geodetic
system of Ancient Britain,
the Kings Stone at the Rollrights
represents Deneb in Cygnus.
Kings Men Stone Circle
at the Rollright Stones (also called
is found approximately 50 yards
from the Kings Stone.
This very ancient circle of stones
(generally and correctly dated to
ca. 3000 BC)
shows the stars of the heavens.
See the Ground Plan
of the astronomical triangulation.
Above in the drawing and photo we see the
entrance to the Kings Men
an entrance which passes between
Draco on the one
and Aquila Vega / Lyra on the other side.
this marks the line to the center of our Galaxy.
An ancient connection to Egypt is possible,
British legend would have us expect,
for it explains the Pharaonic
Egyptian MENIT chain,
which we see here as a necklace
around the neck
of the Draco figure on the left.
The view in ancient Egypt was that the
was the "counterweight" to the SISTRUM,
a musical instrument
which made noise
by being "clacked" together.
This was a strange
which the Rollright Stones however explain.
Here we see on the basis of the Vega / Lyra stone
sistrum was originally a turtle shell
in which stones were apparently
placed to make noise.
They are "astronomical" counterweights
neighbors in the heavens,
marking Draco and Vega / Lyra.
favorite stone at the Rollrights,
however, is the Virgo (Boötes) Stone,
clearly showing a female shape,
viewed from the back.
It is rather
remarkable that the archaeologists
have not been able see this clearly
Perhaps they are too much in the field.
both Virgo and Boötes
since we are not sure yet
whether one or both are
in the stars as such,
since the "hair" style easily visible
from the back of the
could also be Corona Borealis,
so that the stone could combine
several stars and constellations
in one megalith, as is often the case.
